6 Books Bill Gates Recommends for You to be Successful
Listen Podcast
Bill Gates loves to read in his free time, which is not a secret. He likes to read not only to relax and unwind, but also because it helps him learn new things, get inspired, come up with new ideas, and find better solutions to his problems, both at home and at work.
All kinds of experts, not just Bill Gates, say that reading is important for a strong brain and that you should make it a daily habit to get the most out of it.
In Gates’s case, he has a blog called GatesNotes that is partly about his love of reading. Several times a year, he shares the books that he liked the most, that made an impression on him, and that taught him the most important lessons. During his life and career, he has learned a lot.
Gates has given away a wide range of books, including biographies, science fiction, and even some classic works of literature. He has also given away some books that have helped him be more successful at work, and he makes sure that anyone can learn a lot from reading them.
Bill Gates says you should read these 6 books to become successful
John Brooks’ Business Adventures
Bill Gates wrote in GatesNotes that this is the best business book he’s ever read. He read it because Warren Buffett told him it was the best book he should know when he asked for advice.
The book is a collection of articles that Brooks wrote in the 1960s. However, Gates says that they are still relevant today and offer many useful insights, tips, and stories for people who want to get into business. or just do a better job. He mostly talks about how the Xerox company became a million-dollar business. He talks about the strategies and methods it used to get there.
Hans Rosling’s Factfulness
Gates says that this is one of the books that everyone should read, especially when starting a new phase of life, like after college or a new job.
The book talks about how everything inside of us affects how we make decisions. It says that you have to learn to put things in perspective to see everything clearly and find the best way to act or react.
Benjamin Graham’s The Intelligent Investor
This book was written in the 1940s, but Buffett gave it to Bill Gates and said it was the best book ever written about investing.
What difference does it make? Gates says that investing money is the best way to make it grow, but to do that, you need to know how to invest, how to take risks, and how to decide what to do so you don’t lose. This book shows you how to do all of those things. Gates says that Graham grew up during the Great Depression, which taught him to be much smarter with his money.
Steven Pinker’s Enlightenment Now
Gates once said that this book will always be one of his favorites. Since Pinker is a Harvard scholar, Gates often recommends this book.
The book gives a lot of interesting data, facts, and the author’s ideas, which are meant to make people think more broadly and to give them enough information to be able to adapt, make good decisions, and know what to do when things get hard.
Steven Johnson’s Where Good Ideas Come From
This book tells us how to come up with better ideas, how to work with others to find better solutions, and how to make environments that encourage critical, creative, and intelligent thinking that can be used to reach goals and objectives.
The goal is to learn that we can’t be successful on our own, but that we need other people and their different skills to get further. This will be done through new ideas and innovations.
The Snowball: Warren Buffett and The Business of Life
Gates didn’t recommend The Snowball: Warren Buffett and the Business of Life by Alice Schroeder, but he has said many times that he admires Warren Buffett and has learned a lot from the famous Oracle of Omaha, so it’s a good idea to also read his biography.
This book looks at Buffett’s life and focuses on the things he did and the choices he made to build his fortune and become a successful man. It includes many important lessons and success stories. Alice Schroeder was able to talk to Buffett, so she was able to get the best stories from him.
