Casemiro, a midfielder for Brazil and Manchester United, scored the game’s only goal to help the five-time FIFA World Cup champions beat Switzerland 1-0. With this win, Brazil became the second team in the Qatar World Cup to move on to the next round.
Brazil started the game on the offensive, controlling the ball and spending most of the game in Switzerland’s half.
Richarlison, who is in good form, missed a chance to score for the five-time FIFA World Cup champions when Lucas Paqueta crossed a ball in from the left side.

In the 27th minute, Switzerland goalkeeper Yann Sommer had to make a save after Barcelona winger Raphinha made a great run to the far post and then sent a beautiful cross to Vinicius Junior. The Real Madrid winger hit the ball well, and Sommer had to make a save near the post.
In the first half, both teams tried to make chances to score, but neither could find the right pass or finish to change the score.
Richarlison had the first big chance of the second half. The Tottenham star missed the chance after Vinicius sent in a wicked cross with the outside of his foot.
In the 64th minute, Vinicius thought he had given Brazil the lead when he skipped past a couple of Swiss defenders and finished with a cool side-footed shot past Sommer in goal. But the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) ruled that the Real Madrid winger was offside, so the goal was taken away.
Casemiro, a midfielder for Manchester United, scored a goal with just seven minutes left in regulation time to put Brazil ahead. Rodrygo flicked the ball to Casemiro, who hit a beautiful shot with the outside of his foot. This put Brazil ahead of Switzerland.
Casemiro’s goal was celebrated by fans like Kaka, Ronaldo (R9), Roberto Carlos, and Gilberto Silva.
Brazil did well for the rest of the game and added three more points to their Group G total. With this win, Brazil became the second team, after the 2018 champion France, to move on to the round of 16. They will now face Cameroon in their final group-stage match on December 3.
