King Charles has delivered a speech in which he speaks about his mother, Queen Elizabeth II’s, death. These are the first words said by Charles of Wales as his mother’s successor.
“The death of my beloved Mother, Her Majesty, The Queen, is a time of great sadness for me and all members of my family. We deeply regret the death of an adored Sovereign and an adored mother. I know her loss will be felt across the country, the Kingdoms and the Commonwealth and by countless people around the world.”
“During this period of mourning and change, my family and I will be comforted and sustained with our knowledge of the respect and deep affection that The Queen had,” King Charles said in a statement.
Queen Elizabeth II leaves an enormous legacy. She has made history by reigning longer than any other person.
The country and the world are paying tribute to the queen as Britain begins a 10-day period of mourning.
When will Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral be?
Once Queen Elizabeth II’s body is in Buckingham Palace, Operation London Bridge will start. This plan, which has been talked about for a while, includes ten days of mourning, a military parade, the crowning of Charles as King, and a tour of the United Kingdom during which the new monarch will pay tribute to his mother in Edinburgh, Belfast, and Cardiff.
People think that Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in Westminster Abbey will be the end of both Operation Unicorn and London Bridge after eleven or twelve days.
