What will the Coronation of Prince Charles be Like?

Prince Charles is the first son of Queen Elizabeth II. So now that the legendary monarch has died, it’s his turn to take the throne. This will be the first new coronation ceremony in over 60 years.

Queen Elizabeth II has been monarch of the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Pakistan, and Ceylon since her coronation on June 2, 1953. She has been in charge of an entire country since then. She has been the longest-ruling monarch in British history although not in the same way as the kings of old. Elizabeth was only 27, and she had lost her father, King George VI, the year before.

Now that it’s known that Elizabeth II died at Balmoral at the age of 96, all eyes are on Charles, who becomes king and will have to go through a traditional ceremony called “Operation Golden Orb”, which is similar to the one his mother went through but different in many ways.

Camilla will become the queen consort once Charles is crowned king, just like Prince Philip was for the current monarch.

When will the coronation of Prince Charles?

Marie Claire says that the queen’s coronation cost 1.57 million pounds, which is about 46 million dollars today. Charles, on the other hand, wants his coronation to be much cheaper because he doesn’t want the People’s money to be used for too many luxuries and extras.

During the event, Prince Charles will have to say an oath in which he promises to rule his people fairly, according to the laws of the people and of God. He will then have to say, “I will.”

What titles will he and Camila and William receive?

Elizabeth II’s title is “Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of God, Queen of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and of Her Other Realms and Territories, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith.”

Charles will get the same title when he is crowned, and Camilla will be called queen consort.

Where will the coronation be?

Tradition says that the coronation will happen at Westminster Abbey, which is also where royal weddings happen and where Queen Elizabeth II was crowned.
