iOS 16.1 is the new version of the iPhone’s operating system. This is the first version of this OS, which seems to give users all the features that were supposed to come out but were delayed. There are also some improvements to options that were already there and some new options that iPhone users will enjoy. Here are some of the new features of this operating system that came with the iPhone 14.

Shared Photo Library in iCloud

Tired of asking your friends and family to send you the pictures they took at the meeting? Now you can use iCloud’s shared photo library, which lets up to six people work on photos together. All members can add, edit, or delete photos, and photos can be moved between personal and shared libraries.

More customization

As promised, it’s now easier to change your home screen and lock screen. You can customize the lock screen, which will make the process easier and let you skip some steps you had to do before.

Charge with clean energy

You can now turn on clean energy charging in the battery settings. This will help reduce your carbon footprint by only charging when low-carbon electricity is available based on how often you charge.

Battery status in the status bar

Now, a number shows up on the Battery icon. This number tells us how much energy we still have left. Some people might not like it, but some do. This was already available on a lot of phones, but now the iPhone 11, 12, and 13 mini can also do it.

Lock screen charging indicator

Before, you had to unlock your phone to see how it was charging. Now, you can see how much your device is charged right on the lock screen.

Now, when you take a screenshot, a smaller menu that you can move to do different things with your screenshot will pop up.

Apple also fixed some bugs in iOS 16.1 and added options for some apps that aren’t available in Mexico. You might be able to use the emergency services via Satellite until November.

Apple Fitness+ on iPhone Without an Apple Watch

iPhone Apple Fitness+ If you don’t have an Apple Watch, you can still use Apple Fitness+ with iOS 16.1 and tv OS 16.1 without one. If you have Apple Fitness+, you can begin an exercise, but the stats from your Apple Watch won’t be visible on the screen.

After the upgrades are installed, you can join Apple Fitness+ without a watch.

Delete Wallet App

The Wallet app can now be completely deleted from the iPhone with iOS 16.1. The app could be taken off the Home Screen in iOS 16 and older iOS versions, but it could not be deleted. For individuals who do not wish to utilize Apple Pay or other Wallet services, it can now be completely uninstalled.

The choice comes as Apple is being sued for allegedly breaking antitrust rules by making Apple Pay the only mobile wallet accessible for tap-to-pay transactions on iPhones.
