Rihanna and Beyoncé are among Forbes’ 100 most powerful women list. Rihanna’s vast business empire, Fenty Beauty and Savage x Fenty, is ranked 73rd. According to the publication, her rise to billionaire status qualifies her for the position. According to Forbes, Rihanna net worth is currently $1.4 billion, making her the world’s 2,031st wealthiest person.
Beyoncé is the 80th most powerful woman on the list, trailing only Riri. The 41-year-old is reputedly worth $450 million and was chosen for the list based on the success of her and Jay-On Z’s The Run II tour, her outstanding set at Coachella in 2018, and other ventures such as her Ivy Park brand.
Rihanna and Beyonce were also on the Most Powerful Women list 2021. But at significantly higher positions, Rihanna was placed as No. 68 in 2021. She was five spots higher than her current position, while Beyoncé only dropped two spots from her prior position at No. 78. The pair were also named to the publication’s list of the country’s wealthiest self-made women, with the ANTI singer ranking 21st and the Renaissance creator ranking 61st.
Other significant names on this year’s list include Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris (No. 3), billionaire entertainment and media mogul Oprah Winfrey (No. 24), and screenwriter, producer, and author Shonda Rhimes (No. 93).
The most powerful women
Rihanna made the list after becoming a billionaire through her cosmetics company, Fenty Beauty. According to the publication, the musician’s company, which is co-owned by LVMH, will generate more than $550 million in income in 2020. According to Forbes, Rihanna has a net worth of $1.4 billion.
This isn’t Rihanna’s first endeavor that has earned her a spot on the list, which is based on four criteria: money, media, impact, and spheres of influence. Of course, she has a continuing music career. She also owns 30% of her namesake Savage x Fenty lingerie line, which Forbes estimates is worth $1 billion in February 2021.
This year, the company created waves with its multiple loungewear and lingerie launches, as well as its viral Savage x Fenty Vol. 4 presentation on Prime Video, which included a model cast that included Irina Shayk, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Marsai Martin, and Rihanna herself.
Pop cultural figures such as Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, Oprah Winfrey, Dolly Parton, and Reese Witherspoon won positions on the list as well. The list was led by European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, who actively supported Ukraine during Russia’s invasion of the country this year by excluding Russian bank transactions, airspace, and Kremlin-owned news media from the Commission.
