New iPhone 13 Release Date, Price, Specs, and Rumors

Apple iPhone 12 Series launch

New iPhone 13 of Apple appears to be released in September. As the debut date approaches, rumors concerning the iPhone 13 series’ actual launch date and other characteristics have started to surface online.

According to Wedbush analyst Daniel Ives, the iPhone 13 launch could happen on September 14.

Expected release date of new iPhone 13

The new iPhone 13 is slated to be unveiled in September 2021, but there is no final word on when it will go on sale. The latest iPhone is expected to be announced on September 14, 2021.

Apple’s latest iPhones were usually released on the first or second Tuesday of September prior to 2020. If that happens again in 2021, the iPhone 13 series will be revealed on September 7 or 14, with a release date ten days later.

According to various analysts, an announcement is expected in the third week of September this year, which means September 14 is the most likely date, but September 15 is also a possibility, as the firm reveals phones on Wednesdays on a regular basis.

Pre-orders will begin on September 17 with a September 24 release date, according to Apple’s usual schedule (the following Friday).

Previous iPhone release dates

This matches to a date that a retailer has provided. They list new iPhone 13 range for September 17, though the description isn’t clear whether that’s a pre-order or on-sale date, and it’s possible that this is just a placeholder date.

However, due to the Covid-19 outbreak, there is no guarantee that the iPhone 13 will be released on this date. The iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro were postponed to October 2020, while the iPhone 12 tiny and iPhone 12 Pro Max debuted in November of that year.

Furthermore, it appears that the 2020 deferral has resulted in increased phone sales. Although rumors haven’t revealed anything substantial, this could signal that Apple will stick to the new window.

Apple is largely predicted to hold another virtual event in 2021 instead of a physical launch for the iPhone 13. That won’t affect you much, but it does mean that the journalists (including TechRadar) will have to wait a little longer to get their hands on the phones and give you our initial impressions.

New iPhone 13 price

Estimated price to be similar to that of the iPhone 12 series, according to one leak. The most cheap of the 2020 iPhones is the iPhone 12 mini, which costs $699 / £699 / AU$1,199, while the iPhone 12 Pro Max costs $1,099 / £1,099 / AU$1,849.

The iPhone 13 series’ sole major price leak suggests that the new devices will be priced similarly to the iPhone 12 series. It’s the second time the same source has mentioned it, and it confirms our suspicions.

More 2021 iPhone pricing leaks and rumors will be published as they become available, but for now, have a look at the costs for the iPhone 12 series, which should be comparable on the new iPhone 13.

On the other hand, prices may rise little this year. This is especially true outside of the United States, where there are reports that most of the world will have the mmWave 5G technology that the iPhone 12s has now, causing the price to rise.

Furthermore, we’ve heard that one of Apple’s component suppliers is hiking prices, which could lead to Apple following suit. However, we do not expect a big change.

iPhone 13 specifications

The A15 chipset will almost probably power each of these handsets, albeit we don’t know how powerful it will be. In addition, Apple is rumored to be producing a 1TB iPhone in 2021, enabling for the largest iPhone sizes ever.

iPhone 13 design

Little is expected to change from the iPhone 12, but the rear camera appears to be revamped. It appears to have a diagonal lens configuration on the two less expensive phones, but the rest of the phones are believed to be comparable to last year’s models.

New iPhone 13 family is expected to resemble the iPhone 12 series in appearance, but there are a few important alterations that have surfaced in leaks and rumors.

Our own renders based on the leaks you can read about can be found in the gallery below. We’ve combined the information we’ve gathered from a variety of sources to produce our own artist’s conception of what we expect to see.

These may not be completely true when the phone launches later this year, but given the leaks we’ve heard about since July 2021 and before, this is our best picture of the phone so far.

CAD drawings for the iPhone 13 show a lower notch and a diagonal camera configuration, according to one of the greatest design leaks thus far. They also appear to have a significantly thicker design, which is likely to handle the rumored larger batteries.

New iPhone 13 colors

Apple may release some new colors with the iPhone 13 series, such as pink and orange. Along with those, we may expect to see hues from the previous generation, such as purple, black, and white.

In early May, a Twitter account called Peng Phones posted a reportedly leaked image of a bubblegum pink iPhone 13, but the image turned out to be wishful thinking from an Instagram artist who specialized in 3D modeling. Then, in June, YouTube user EverythingApplePro teased a matte-black iPhone 13 render, rumored to be a substitute for the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro’s existing graphite and space gray color options.

According to leaker Ranzuk on Naver, a Korean blogging platform, Apple may also be adding a new color to the iPhone 13 lineup named “Sunset Gold.” The hue is claimed to have a “bronze feel” to it, and is a shade lighter than Apple’s rose gold. @RendersbyIan shared renderings of the iPhone 13’s new color on Twitter.

Camera and display

The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are expected to have 120Hz refresh rates, despite the fact that screen sizes and pixels are expected to remain identical across the iPhone 13 lineup. As a result, the image on these screens will be smoother than it was on previous iPhones. We also want each handset to have an always-on display.

A handful of renders depicting suspected new iPhone 13 designs have already started circulating on Twitter. The iPhone 13 and 13 Pro have a larger camera hump and are thicker than its predecessors, according to a recent one from MacRumors. The iPhone 13’s camera bump is getting somewhat thicker, according to MacRumors, possibly to handle upcoming camera enhancements like lidar.

Sonny Dickson on Twitter posted a new render in late June that revealed a subtle difference on the iPhone 13 and 12 Mini’s camera module, with the two lenses positioned diagonally rather than one above the other.

The iPhone 13 series’ camera is expected to be improved, and the two Pro models may have an updated ultra-wide camera. According to sources, the iPhone 13 Pro will have a better telephoto camera, and LiDAR will be available on all four models, giving you improved depth awareness. Improvements to the video recording software, including a new Portrait mode, are also promised.

We don’t expect any major design changes in 2021, given that 2020 already witnessed a huge “slabular” redesign with the return of the iPhone 5’s flat sides. Apple is also unlikely to adjust the phone’s dimensions from the previous iteration.

Battery

If the biggest iPhone 13 battery leak is true, phones in 2021 will have a bigger battery. The iPhone 13 is expected to have a battery capacity of 3,095mAh, compared to 2,805mAh in the iPhone 12. So, what does that mean? The iPhone 13 is expected to last longer than previous iPhones.

Do you want to know all about new iPhone 13 leaks so far? It’s in the part below, where we go through every feature and spec of the latest iPhone series.

We’ve been covering Apple phones since Steve Jobs originally revealed the iPhone in 2007, so we’re confident that we’ve only brought you the most likely and coherent new iPhone based on our research of dates, source legitimacy, and, well, what makes the most sense to us.

2. 6.1-inch iPhone 13
3. 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro
4. 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max

Two potential design elements that are already generating some buzz are a shallower notch or even a completely notch-less screen, as seen in several leaked mockups.

In an Apple Insider video, dummy iPhone 13 units with a smaller earpiece notch that migrated to the top of the phone’s bezel were seen with a shallower notch. The fake devices from Apple Insider also matched prior speculations about the iPhone 13 lineup’s size resemblance to the iPhone 12.

Prices of iPhone 12

Apple’s iPhone 12 range had four phones at four different pricing points, with much more variance among carriers and storage options. The base iPhone 12 carrier model priced $799 at launch, up to $100 over the iPhone 11 in 2019, owing to the addition of 5G connectivity.

Apple’s new iPhone 13 lineup could see another price hike. According to a DigiTimes report from August, Apple is considering raising the price of the iPhone 13 to compensate for increased chip production costs from its supplier TSMC. According to the report, the actual amount of the iPhone price rise is unknown.

Apple may preserve the same price structure for the iPhone 13 or consider cutting the price of its next phone lineup, according to earlier rumors.

The iPhone 12’s sales could signal Apple’s pricing strategy for this new iPhone 13. Apple’s forecasted 2020 “supercycle” appears to have occurred as planned: The iPhone 12 and 12 Pro were the first and second best-selling 5G phone models in the globe in October. Furthermore, Apple just reported that the iPhone 12 generated the company’s highest revenue and profit in its history.
