Tajikistan announced in July that it was prepared to accept up to one lakh Afghan refugees. Around 20,000 Afghan migrants have already sought refuge in Canada.
Germany’s Chancellor Angela Merkel has told her party that the country needs to take in 10,000 Afghan refugees.
India is committed to removing Hindus and Sikhs who wish to immigrate to the country. It has launched a new e-visa category, which is currently valid for six months.
Iran has reportedly set up emergency tents for refugees in three districts bordering Afghanistan, according to reports.
Pakistan has stated that it will close its border with Afghanistan, yet Afghans have been permitted to travel into Pakistan thus far.
