House of the Dragon Cast and All You Need to Know

Fans of “Game of Thrones”, are you ready? House of the Dragon will be the first spin-off from the HBO series about the 7 kingdoms. It will be about the Targaryens, one of the most powerful, interesting, and important families in the series.

After Game of Thrones ended, HBO said that it had planned to make several other shows about the same world. However, many of those plans were scrapped, and only one show made it to air (for the moment). House of the Dragon would take us back thousands of years to learn about the history of dragon-riding warriors and the people who eventually started the powerful houses that fought for the iron throne. It would focus mostly on the ancestors of the Mother of Dragons (Emilia Clarke), who won us all over with her fight for the oppressed and her desire to get back the crown that was rightfully hers.

In a blog post, George RR Martin confirmed that his most recent book on Targaryen history, Fire & Blood, was the inspiration for the new prequel series that HBO is making. However, he also said that this was just a guide and that some details and characters could be changed.

He wrote, “I can tell you there will be dragons.” “That’s what everyone else has said, so why shouldn’t I?”

The teaser

The first teaser for the Game of Thrones prequel shows that the throne doesn’t come to those who don’t fight for it. The video takes us back 200 years before the fall of the throne, when the Targaryens were at the top of their power and dragons were common sights in the sky.

The teaser also shows the first images of some of history’s most important people and says there will be a lot of fire, blood, and violence.

Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen is the “chosen heir to King Viserys. She is a dragon rider who grew up hoping to be the first queen of Westeros.” This is what the official poster says “according to what HBO says.

House of the Dragon’s first pictures

The first concept art pictures of the dragons that will be in House of the Dragon are one of the few details that have been shared so far. These dragons are different from the ones we saw in Game of Thrones because they were more common during this time and the Targaryens were in charge of feeding, training, and fighting with them.

Also, HBO posted a series of pictures to its Twitter account that show that filming for the show has already started. They don’t say much about the plot, but you can see the actors getting ready for their parts and reading the scripts.

HBO showed the first photos of the new Targaryens in their costumes and in different places where the story will take place. The photos confirmed that filming had begun.

When is House of the Dragon released?

The HBO original drama HOUSE OF THE DRAGON starts on HBO Max and HBO on Sunday, August 21. It has ten episodes.

What happens in House of the Dragon

The book Fire & Blood takes place over 150 years and shows how many leaders in Westeros rise to power and then fall from it. Some sources told EW that the famous Dance of the Dragons, the Targaryen Civil War that is mentioned in Game of Thrones and tore Westeros apart, will be talked about at some point in the series.

From what we know, the series will show the conquest of Aegon 300 years before the events of the Game of Thrones series, from the conquest of Aegon to the Dance of the Dragons, which is the civil war. Targaryen, and that was the start of the end of the family’s rule.

The New Targaryens

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fabien Frankel will play a key role in the new series. The actor, who was in Last Christmas, will play a member of King Viserys I Targaryen’s Royal Guard, whose actions caused a civil war. His name in the story is Ser Criston Cole, and George RR Martin says, “He is the common son of the lord of Blackhaven’s steward. He has no right to land or titles. All he has is his honor and his skill with a sword and spear.” He is a challenger, a champion, praised by the people, and loved by the women. At first, it was said that The Third Day and The Outsider star Paddy Considine had been chosen to play King Viserys I, who was chosen by the lords of Westeros to take over from Jaehaerys Targaryens at the Great Council of Harrenhal.

Fans of George RR Martin will remember that Viserys I ruled Westeros about 100 years after Aegon took it over. Rhaenyra and Aegon II, his children, would eventually fight a civil war called the Dance of Dragons for his throne.

HBO also said that Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, and Matt Smith, three of the most important characters in the story, would be a part of the show’s cast. Cooke will play Alicent Hightower, daughter of King Otto Hightower. Emma D’Arcy will play Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, and Matt Smith will play Daemon Targaryen, younger brother of King Viserys and a warrior who rides dragons.

Rhys Ifans (from “The Amazing Spider-Man”), Steve Toussaint (from “It’s a Sin”), Eve Best (from “Nurse Jackie”), and Sonoya Mizuno are also in the cast.

(Devs), Ifans will play Otto Hightower, who is King Viserys’s Hand of the King. Toussaint joins the show as Lord Corlys Velaryon, also known as “The Sea Snake.” He is called “Westeros’s most famous sea adventurer.” Best will play Princess Rhaenys Velaryon, a dragonrider who was “passed over as heir to the throne in the Great Council because the kingdom favored her cousin, Viserys, just because he is male.” Mizuno will play Mysaria to round out the cast. the description of which says: “Mysaria had nothing when she came to Westeros, and she has been sold more times than she can remember. She might have been weakened, but instead she became Prince Daemon Targaryen, the heir to the throne most trusted and most unlikely ally.

Characters from the Lannister family, knights, and important players in the political game will be with the Targaryens.

Ryan Corr as Ser Harwin ‘Breakbones’ Strong – ‘Breakbones’, Harwin is said to be the strongest man in the Seven Kingdoms. Ser Harwin is the eldest son of the Lawmaster Lyonel Strong and heir to Harrenhal.
Jefferson Hall as Lord Jason Lannister – The Lord of Casterly Rock and Ser Tyland Lannister’s twin.
Jefferson Hall as Tyland Lannister – A cunning and calculating politician, the twin of Lord Jason Lannister.
David Horovitch as Grand Maester Mellos – Voice of reason and trusted advisor to King Viserys.
