People can rent tools from Apple to fix their iPhones under the Self Service Repair Program, which started this week for iPhone users in the US and is coming to Europe later this year.
For each iPhone model, you want to fix, there are different kits. Each tool kit comes with all the tools you need to fix your iPhone, the company said. Users can keep the tool kit with them for up to seven days. They can keep it with them.
For $49 a week, you can rent a tool kit that can be used to fix your iPhone from the Self Service Repair Store website (roughly Rs. 3,800). In the Self Service Repair Program, you can rent a tool kit for each iPhone model that can be fixed. Apple has made a different tool kit for each model. For example, you can rent a tool kit for each of the iPhone 12s, iPhone 12 minis, iPhone 12 Pros, and iPhone 12 Pro Max (2022).
If you put all of the tool kits together, they’re each in a case that’s 20 inches wide and 47 inches high when they’re stacked. If you buy the iPhone SE (2022), the tool kit comes in one case. For other eligible iPhone models, it comes in two.
The cases are not very light. In the tool kit, one case weighed 43 pounds (19.50 kg) and the other weighed 36 pounds (19.50 kg) (16.33kg). It’s good that each case has a set of rollers.
In terms of tools, the kit comes with things like a heated display removal tool, a heated display pocket, a battery press, a display press, an adhesive cutter, display and back protectors, screwdrivers, and bits. During your own self-repair, this is something you might need.
Finally, when you’re done with your work, you need to send the tool kit back. If any of the tools are missing or damaged, Apple may charge you more than the rent you already paid, even if you have already paid. It also says that each tool kit is checked before it is sent to the customer to avoid any problems.
Users of iPhones who live in the United States can now use the Self Service Repair Program, which was announced in November. It also has parts that can’t be fixed, like the battery, speaker, camera, display, and SIM tray.
