DeLorean Alpha5 – It’s Entirely New Version of Sports Car

DeLorean Alpha5 have wanted the legendary DeLorean to come back for a long time, and now it’s finally happening. But the DeLorean Alpha5 is not just a redesigned version of the mythical car we first saw in the Back to the Future movies. Instead, it is an entirely new version of the sports car that became famous for its unique design.

This car, called the Alpha5, brings back the iconic gull-wing doors that made its predecessor so special. However, it does away with the straight lines and blocky look of its predecessor in favor of a design full of curves and softer lines.

The car’s powertrain has also been taken to a new level. It is very different from the car that came out in the 1980s with a low-output six-cylinder engine in the back. The new DeLorean Alpha5 gets its power from electricity.

With a battery pack that can hold more than 100 kWh, the company is sure that at least this car will be able to drive itself for more than 480 kilometers. The vehicle’s top speed is 250 km/h, which is good but not as good as other fast sports cars that can easily go over 300 km/h.

From the images that have been shown, it’s clear that the Alpha5 follows in the footsteps of grand tourism cars and has a roomy cabin that looks easy to get used to. The way it looks makes us think it’s a coupé or a large coupé, even though it’s definitely bigger than its predecessor.

The DeLorean Alpha5 is 5 meters long, 2 meters wide, and 1.3 meters tall when the doors are closed. As we’ve already said, the doors still open in a “gull-wing” style, which, along with the medallion, reminds us of that unforgettable stainless steel sports car.

The bodywork, which was made in collaboration with Italdesign, puts an emphasis on the car’s aerodynamics. The canopy of the concept car looks like the basic shape of an airplane fuselage, getting narrower from front to back. The fact that its rear fenders are wide and rounded just adds to this idea.

Inside, like most modern cars, the DeLorean Alpha5 has two large screens that seem to rise from the center console into the dash and show the instrument panel and infotainment system. “The Alpha5 is a representation of the last 40 years of DeLorean,” said Troy Beetz, the director of marketing for the DeLorean Motor Company. “It was a huge responsibility to honor the DeLorean brand’s history, but it was an even bigger responsibility to shape its future… I think the Alpha5 helped us do both.”

DeLorean plans to show off the Alpha5 for the first time at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in August. At least in terms of design, this will put all questions to rest.

On the other hand, the company didn’t say anything about how much its new product would cost.
