Google Pixel owners, prepare to walk outside and enjoy some fresh air while your phone upgrades.
Google stated in a blog post on Monday that Android 13 would begin rolling out to Google Pixel smartphones. Other Android device manufacturers, such as Samsung, Motorola, and OnePlus, will receive the Android 13 update later this year, but Google’s own smartphones will receive it first.
There are no major surprises about the features of Google Pixel Android 13, as Google revealed the largely incremental upgrade at I/O earlier this year. The “Material You” design language has been updated so that whatever color themes you select for the phone will now be applied to app icons, and multilingual users can now choose multiple default languages for different apps rather than relying on a single language for the entire phone.
There are also privacy enhancements, such as the clipboard automatically erasing the copied personal information after a certain amount of time and the ability to grant apps access to certain photographs and videos, as opposed to the entire collection. On day one, Google Pixel owners will likely not notice any significant alterations.
Still, even incremental upgrades are still upgrades. This language option appears to be a great highlight if you speak numerous languages or are attempting to learn them. The nicest aspect about this rollout, though, is that Google Pixel owners can suddenly feel superior to their Android-using peers.
