Maye Musk, the mother of billionaire Elon Musk, recently talked about how she sleeps when she visits her son in Texas, US. In an interview with The Sunday Times in the UK, the model and activist, who is 74 years old, talked about many things, including her relationship with the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX.
Even though her billionaire son, Elon Musk, is the richest person in the world, his mother, Maye, said that Elon is “not at all” interested in things. She even said that when she goes to visit the tech mogul in Texas, where SpaceX is based, she has to “sleep in the garage”.
Maye told the news organization, “You can’t have a fancy house near a rocket site.”
Elon himself had said earlier this year that Elon Musk “doesn’t even own a home” and stays “at friends’ places.” This happened after he said in 2020 that he planned to sell all of his properties.
“Almost everything I own is going up for sale. He said on Twitter, “Won’t own a house. Don’t need the cash. Having things just makes you feel heavy.”
The CEO of SpaceX then said that he rents his main home from the company for $50,000.
During the same interview, Maye said that, unlike her son, she doesn’t want to be sent to Mars. “You have to prepare for six months and be alone, and that doesn’t sound fun to me,” she told The Times. She added, “But if my kids want me to do it, I will.”
Maye and her ex-husband, Errol Musk, have three kids together: Elon, Kimbal, and Tosca.
She also talked to the outlet about the “hard times” she went through after her marriage to Errol ended.
