Two of them can send short text messages and use satellite navigation. This makes them the first devices with a satellite connection, which Apple has been promising since the iPhone 13 and which he will launch with the iPhone 14 at his Far Out event.
Satellite connectivity
The Mate 50 and Mate 50 Pro are the phones in question. They can do this kind of communication because they have a deal with the China BeiDou satellite network, which lets them connect without a cell signal.
The satellite connection is different from the cell phone connection because it can be used almost anywhere on Earth, even where there is no cell phone coverage. This would cost more than the usual way to connect, but it would work quickly and well.
This is a step forward for Huawei in the world of satellite connections, and it comes just one day before Apple’s September event, where this kind of technology will be shown. On the other hand, these Huawei devices could be one of the best rivals for the new iPhone 14 because they have a lot of great features although it lacks a 5G connection.
The Mate 50 series has versions of the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip that work with 4G and 8GB of RAM. This chip is used in many of today’s most advanced devices. The refresh rate of the Pro’s OLED screen is 120Hz, while the Mate 50’s is only 90Hz. On the other hand, it has a 50-megapixel rear camera with a variable aperture lens, which could be one of the best cameras on the market today. Also, both have a 13-megapixel ultrawide, and telephoto lenses. The Pro is more powerful and has a 64-megapixel camera that can digitally zoom up to 200 times.
Overall, the Mate 50 has a lot going for it. It may be one of the best smartphones you can buy, but it doesn’t have all the features that the iPhone 14 does. But its new satellite connection is something to talk about and could draw some people, even though there are a lot of questions about how it would work.
At first, the technology will be limited, but over time, it will improve and grow to the point where it will be possible to use satellite to access multimedia content. And even though it will start in China, it will eventually spread to the west.
