New movies on Disney plus August 2022, and along with the shows we already knew about, there are a few surprises. The latest Pixar movie, Buzz Lightyear, will be on the platform a lot sooner than we thought, and Venom will join the MCU.

On the other hand, fans of Marvel shows will have enough to watch with She-Hulk and I Am Groot, and fans of other Disney shows will also have something to watch. All new shows that will start this month are on this list. Take note.

Lightyear

So things are. Lightyear will be on Disney+ pretty soon. This could be because critics didn’t think it would be as big of a hit as it was.

Buzz Lightyear, the hero who inspired the toy, goes on an intergalactic adventure with other characters that leads him to face his most dangerous enemy.

Venom

Premiere: August 5

Venom, starring Tom Hardy, shows up on Disney+ out of the blue. This movie made by Marvel and Sony is not an official part of the MCU, but it is a part of the Sony Universe. It is about a journalist named Eddie Brock who is taken over by an alien entity.

Even though critics didn’t like it, there’s already a sequel and the character was in Spider-Man: No Way Home, so if you haven’t seen it yet, now might be a good time.

I am Groot

Premiere: August 10

I Am Groot is a collection of shorts where little Groot is the main character. Vin Diesel is back to give this character’s voice. He will be in short stories of a few minutes where he and other cute creatures get into trouble.

She-Hulk: Defender of Heroes

Premiere: August 3

She-Hulk is the next show in the Marvel Universe. Tatiana Maslany plays Bruce Banner’s cousin, who also gets superpowers when he gives some of his blood to her. This makes it hard for her to do her job as a lawyer. In the show, she will be chosen to be the representative of a department that helps people with superpowers with their legal problems.

It will be a comedy with some action, and if you like the MCU, you can’t miss it.

LEGO Star Wars: Summer Vacation

Premiere: August 5

Finn plans a trip for his friends Rey, Poe, and others during a Star Wars summer special. But everything goes wrong, and he goes his own way. The ghosts of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and Leia Organa talk to the young man about their bad vacation.

Star Wars fans will enjoy this different show with all the magic of LEGO.

High School Musical The Musical The Series

The Disney show with one of the weirdest names has been picked up for a third season. In it, the Wildcats and their friends get ready for a very different summer. Of course, there will be some drama and a lot of music along the way.

Marvel Studios United: Creating Ms. Marvel

One more episode of this documentary series about how Marvel shows are made. This episode is about Ms. Marvel, a show that just ended a few weeks ago and was a big step forward for diversity.
