Twitter Inc co-founder Jack Dorsey said on Wednesday that he has no intentions to lead the social media giant again, implying that he will have a restricted role if Elon Musk’s acquisition agreement is successful. According to news agency Reuters, Musk was in talks with Dorsey to donate his shares to the planned acquisition, according to a recent regulatory filing.
According to reports, Dorsey, who is presently the CEO of Block Inc, holds a 2.4 percent ownership in Twitter.
Dorsey was ousted as Twitter’s CEO in 2008, two years after the company was founded. In 2015, he reclaimed the post until handing it over to chief technology officer Parag Agarwal in 2021.
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, purchased Twitter for $44 billion on April 25. According to reports, Musk may temporarily assume control of the social media company.
