What is Never Have I Ever season 3 about?
The Netflix plot summary says, “In season 3 of the coming-of-age comedy Never Have I Ever Season 3, Indian-American teen Devi (Maitreyi Ramakrishnan) continues to deal with the pressures of high school and drama at home, while also figuring out new romantic relationships.” That’s pretty vague, which is fine, but thanks to where we left off in season 2, we have some clues.
After nine fast-paced episodes, season 2 of Never Have I Ever ends with a few loose ends at the winter formal. Devi goes to the dance with Eleanor as her date after she and Paxton break up. Eleanor then trades Devi for Trent.
Just as Devi, who is sad and alone, is about to leave, Paxton comes back to the school grounds, and the two of them kiss passionately. As the whole school watches, they continue to get back together on the dance floor, which makes Ben sad. He cries by the punch bowl. He says, “It’s always been him.” Eleanor tells him, “No, it hasn’t.” “She wanted to choose you after you took her to Malibu. So, to be clear, it hasn’t always been him.”
But it’s not happening to everyone. Eve and Fabiola, the school’s first Cricket Queen and Queen, just told each other they love each other. At her proposal dinner, Kamala ran away to spend time with Mr. Kulkarni.

Is there a trailer for Never Have I Ever Season 3?
On July 27, Netflix put out the first trailer for Never Have I Ever Season 3. It starts with a slow-motion shot of Devi Vishwakumar and Paxton Hall-Yoshida, the most unexpected power couple ever. When they walk into Sherman Oaks High as a couple for the first time, Mr. Shapiro, the history teacher, does a spit take. Friends, we’re now in the Daxton era… get ready.
“Daxton’s first show was crazy. “Your popularity has gone through the roof, and now people hate you,” Eleanor says to Devi in the trailer. When they turn around, they see a group of girls throwing daggers with their eyes at Devi. Devi seems to be hurt by the fact that she can’t believe Daxton. She starts to question the basis of her relationship and whether or not it is real.
But in the last 30 seconds of the trailer, a young Indian guy who “definitely does not look like a dork” throws another curveball. “Oh sh*t,” says Devi as the son of her mom’s friend walks into a party. Can’t believe how complicated and exciting the drama is?
Never Have I Ever Season 3: The Plot
The end of the last season left people with a few questions. Everyone knows that Devi and Paxton (Darren Barnet) are back together because they danced together in front of everyone at the school dance. Eleanor (Ramona Young), Ben’s sister, tells him that Devi’s first choice for a boyfriend was actually him, not the popular swimmer. This news breaks Ben’s heart. From the shirt her best friend is holding in the picture above, it looks like things might get a little more serious with Paxton (or Devi wants them to get there). After all, she hadn’t tried to sleep with him for the first time.
But Devi’s love life could be thrown another curveball. The new character Des, played by Anirudh Pisharody, is an Indian student at a private school. His story is unknown at this point. Could Devi or Aneesa (Megan Suri) switch from the public school to the private one? Does Devi’s mom try to set him up with her? Is he just a friend of the family? Just wait and see.
But what does all of this mean for Ben? Will he try to get in the way of Devi and Aneesa’s relationship, break up with Aneesa, be sad about his loss, or start dating someone else? In the promotional pictures, he and Devi look like they are having a friendly argument, which doesn’t tell us much.
Who stars in Never Have I Ever Season 3?
The main cast is the same, so Maitreyi Ramakrishnan is back as Devi Vishwakumar, and Darren Barnet is Paxton Hall-Yoshida. Jaren Lewison is Ben Gross, Lee Rodriguez is Fabiola Torres, Ramona Young is Eleanor Wong, Megan Suri is Aneesa, etc. — you know them all by now.
But judging by the new teaser photos, it looks like season 3 will add a new face to the cast. Collider says that Anirudh Pisharody will play Des, a student at a private school and the “extremely hot” son of a friend of Devi’s mom. How does he plan to change things? We don’t know yet, but we’re sure he will.
When will Never Have I Ever Season 3 be on Netflix?
Based on how long it took between the first two seasons to come out, the new season is likely to come out on August 12, 2022. Between the first and second seasons of Never Have I Ever, there was a fifteen-month break. The first season came out in April 2020, and the second came out in July 2021. So, if that’s true, it might come out on August 12, 2022.
Everything Else We Know
Every season of Never Has I Ever has added a new character to Devi’s role as narrator. Andy Samberg was Ben’s narrator in the first season, while Gigi Hadid was Paxton’s in the second. It’s likely that we’ll find out about another narrator. The only question is whose voice we’ll hear. So far, these narrators have been Devi’s boyfriends or girlfriends. If the new character Des becomes a love interest, he could be the next person to tell the story. If he doesn’t become a love interest, maybe the narrator could be found out through another character’s partner, like Trent.
You can choose your narrator until August, or you can watch the first two seasons again to make sure you remember everything when the third season comes out.
Conclusion
Never Have I Ever Season 3 will come out in the summer of 2022. At the end of season 2, Mindy Kaling’s drama-comedy about growing up left us wanting more.
After last season, Devi and Paxton are back together. Ben is heartbroken when she picks the popular swimmer instead of him. This season, a new character named Des (played by Anirudh Pisharody) will be introduced, but no one knows what his story will be.
So far, the people telling the story have been her romantic interests. If Des ends up being a love interest, he could be the next person who tells the story.
