Joker 2 Officially Confirmed. When the Sequel Be Released?

Joker is one of the best “superhero” movies of all time. It decided to fully embrace the darkness of its main character, giving us an origin story. The plot fits with the idea that monsters aren’t born, but are made by society and its circumstances over time.

The movie won two Oscars, including Best Actor for Joaquin Phoenix, and gave DC and comic book movies a lot of new ideas. The studio has already said that a sequel is on the way.

Arthur Fleck is the main character in the first part. It’s about a man who’s been hurt by society and can’t tell what’s real and what’s in his head. He gets tired of everything that’s happening to him and decides to do something about it. He changes into a violent clown and kills his first person on live TV, causing chaos in the city.

That explosion is one of the best things to happen in DC history, and it was the first time we saw what Phoenix could do with a famous bad guy. At this point, people started talking about the sequel, and now we know some details.

What does Joker 2 stand for?

Todd Phillips said on Instagram that Joker 2 has already been approved and is currently called Folie à Deux, which, according to Geekosity, means “An identical or similar mental disorder that affects two or more people, usually close family members.”

This could mean that Joker is spreading a “disease” that hurts the people of Gotham, as we started to see in the first part, or that another bad guy with mental problems will show up.

On the other hand, the Three Jokers comic shows three different versions of Joker, called The Criminal, The Clown, and The Comedian. This could be a reference to a story about Batgirl and Red Hood causing trouble in Gotham.

Joaquin Phoenix has also been confirmed for the Joker sequel. Phillips showed a photo of the actor reading the script so he can play the criminal clown role again.

Also, Zazie Beetz and Douglas Hodge are likely to come back as Alfred. Variety also says that there is a chance that they will show a different version of Harley Quinn than the one played by Margot Robbie (who will be Barbie) and that they will show Bruce Wayne again, but this time it will be a child who puts on the Batman suit and becomes the Joker’s biggest enemy.

What happens in Joker 2?

Phillips didn’t say much about the picture, but based on how the last movie ended, we can be sure that Joker will show us more of Arthur Fleck’s crazy behavior.

He started a series of violent uprisings in and around Gotham. This shows that people are tired of Arthur, who is no longer a lonely and lost man but a full-fledged villain who is just starting to explore his options.

Now, we will probably see what Arthur does with his newfound power and fame, as well as the Gotham Police’s attempts to stop him before he gets even worse. In the first movie, Martha and Thomas Wayne also died. Let’s see how that made his young son feel.
