Google Pixel 6a Review with Full Specifications
Design and Display
Google has verified that the display on the Pixel 6a measures 6.1 inches, making it somewhat more compact than the screen on the Pixel 6, which is 6.4 inches. We think that Google will use an OLED screen with a 1080p resolution for the Pixel 6a. But the Pixel 6a’s screen only updates at 60Hz, which is a big difference from the Pixel 6’s screen, which updates at 90Hz.
Google’s pictures show that the Pixel 6a’s design is the same as that of the Pixel 6. There is a big camera bar, a two-tone color scheme, and a lot more. Strangely enough, the construction of the phone is made of glass and metal. The majority of low-cost electronics are made of plastic. The Pixel 6a, on the other hand, has a Gorilla Glass 6 screen and a battery that can hold 4306 mAh. The base model of the Google Pixel 6 has a screen made of Gorilla Glass Victus and a battery of 4614 mAh.
The Google Pixel 6a comes in three colors: green, black, and white (or silver). AT&T says it is 2.8 inches long, 6 inches wide, and 0.35 inches thick. Google hasn’t shown any cases or other accessories that can be used with the phone.
Performance
As was expected, the Google Pixel 6a uses the same tensor chip as the Pixel 6. This means that a lot of its features, like Live Translate and the Magic Eraser, are powered by AI. What’s more noteworthy is that it’s a clue that the Pixel 6a will deliver premium performance at a very cheap price.
Obviously, the Pixel 6a doesn’t match the Pixel 6’s technical specs to a T. For example, AT&T says that the Google Pixel 6a only has 128 gigabytes of storage space on the inside. That’s half of what the Pixel 6 comes within its normal configuration.
We don’t know yet about other specs, like how much RAM it will have. But the Pixel 6 base model comes with 8 gigabytes of RAM, so it’s probably safe to assume that Google won’t go much lower than that.
Google Tensor says that the Pixel 6a will get three updates to its operating system to Android 15 and security patches until the summer of 2027. This would make the Pixel 6a last a ridiculously long time for a phone that costs as much as it does.
It will come with Android 12 already installed. This will give it access to Material You and give it better privacy features. It will also get Android 13 in the fall, which will give it better theming and some small changes to the user interface, as well as a lot of other new features.
Camera
Almost every Pixel phone has a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 as the main sensor. With the Pixel 6, Google broke this pattern by adding a 50-megapixel lens. The Pixel 6a’s 12MP sensor is out of date, which is a bummer for photography fans. But the “downgrade” is not something that most people worry about a lot.
The hardware does not determine how good a pixel photo is. Google uses cutting-edge computational photography techniques that allow the company to make high-quality images with equipment that should be old. Even if this 12MP lens can’t beat the 50MP lens on the Pixel 6, it will still be better than every other camera on a phone that costs less than $450.
Since we haven’t had a chance to test the Google Pixel 6a yet, you should take this conclusion with a grain of salt because it’s just an educated guess.
Note that the Pixel 6a has an 8-megapixel camera on the front and a 12-megapixel camera with an ultra-wide lens on the back. Most likely, these are the same cameras that come with the Google Pixel 6 device.

Google Pixel 6a Price
We thought that since the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro came out at a lower price than the Pixel 5, the Pixel 6a would do the same. Unfortunately, that’s not the case, and the Pixel 6a costs $449.
We don’t know if Google wanted to sell the Pixel 6a for less money but was forced to keep the same price because of a shortage of chips. No matter what, $449 is also not a bad price. Google Pixel 5a 5G cost the same amount when it first came out.
Conclusion
Google’s new Pixel 6A won’t break the bank, and its features are almost exactly the same as those of the company’s full-size phones, even though it costs less. Even though it has the same Tensor chipset as the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, the camera on the Google Pixel 6a is not as good as those on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro.
