This figure is reflective of the high value placed on making the wedding day truly unforgettable, from lavish venues to exquisite catering and beyond. It speaks to the societal emphasis on the wedding as a pivotal life event worthy of grandeur.

India’s wedding scene is notable not just for its vibrant colors and elaborate rituals but also for its large gatherings, averaging 285 guests. This tradition underscores the communal nature of Indian weddings, where families and extended relatives come together in celebration. The economic spectrum of Indian weddings is broad, with the middle class spending around $25,000, while a segment of the population opts for even more opulent celebrations, spending upwards of $45,000.

In Europe, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Spain share the spotlight for their substantial wedding budgets, each with an average expenditure of $23,000. These countries celebrate weddings with a blend of traditional charm and modern sophistication, reflecting their rich cultural heritages while also embracing contemporary trends. Portugal, with an average expenditure of $17,000 and a guest count of 112, offers a glimpse into the more modest, yet equally heartfelt, celebrations that are characteristic of Southern European weddings.

Photography emerges as a universal priority among couples worldwide, with 93% of weddings employing the services of a photographer. This underscores the universal desire to capture and preserve the memories of the wedding day. Following closely are services that enhance the aesthetics and enjoyment of the day, including makeup and hair, catering, bridal attire, and decoration, illustrating the comprehensive effort that goes into creating the wedding experience.

Latin American couples face unique economic challenges when planning their weddings, often having to balance their desire for a traditional celebration with financial realities. This balancing act often results in a reduced guest list to ensure that the budget can accommodate a memorable event.

The planning phase of weddings is a lengthy process, with countries like Portugal, Spain, Italy, and Brazil showing that couples spend an average of 11 to 12 months organizing their big day.
