Why You Shouldn’t Wear Sleeping Shirts While Working from Home
A study found individuals working from home while wearing sleeping shirts could potentially get a mental health risk.
A study published in the Australian Journal of Medicine last December, reported individuals wearing sleeping shirts while working from home were reported to be able to suffer worse mental health than those with young children at home.
Studies by researchers from the Woolcock Institute, David Chapman and Cindy Thamrin performed against 163 workers in Australia.
“Wearing a sleeping shirt is not the main cause of mental health declining but the effects of the wearing will increase on mental health,” he said. Through the study, the researchers encouraged people to wear work shirts to reduce depression levels.

“We recommend switching clothes before starting to work in the morning because it may be able to prevent it from mental illness,” he explained.
According to him, wearing a sleeping shirt while working from home is not the best idea. This is because, he said, wearing a sleeping shirt during a normal day does not affect, but, it is different if worn while working.
In fact, the study found ignoring aspects of clothing selection would have a negative impact on productivity, sleep patents and mental health. Psychologist Charlotte Armitage gives reminders to individuals working at home to stay focused and productive.
“If a routine of changing clothing at home is done, it means you’re psychologically prepared and focused on working,” he said.
