A Guide To Adding Spa-Like Features In Your Bathroom

spa like bathroom features guide

Every trip to the spa leaves me feeling pampered, relaxed and rejuvenated. Whenever I leave the spa, I wish I could have such an experience at home. The serene environment helps me unwind within minutes and the calming atmosphere makes me want to forget all my worries and relax. But with changing times, it has become possible to recreate the same in my bathroom. It is now possible to incorporate all the spa-like elements, upgrade the fixtures, and reduce the clutter to have a space that allows relaxation and rejuvenation. All it needs is a few little tweaks. You do not have to worry about planning a bathroom remodel or spending all your savings on decor. It is possible to reimagine the bathroom as a personal sanctuary and transform it with spa-like features.

Bring in natural elements

One of the easiest ways to make your bathroom feel like a spa is to incorporate plants. You can place potted houseplants on the countertop, floor, or bathroom surfaces. If you have the space, you can hang a potted plant from your ceiling. When choosing plants for the bathroom, you need to ensure that they can survive in a humid environment and the minimal light that the place receives. Alternatively, you can consider adding a vase with a set of fresh flowers on the countertop or you could decorate the space with faux flowers.

Declutter the area

A cluttered countertop is not the right environment for relaxation. If you want to make a space that allows you to relax and rejuvenate, you will have to streamline it by getting rid of all the products that have been unused or expired. If you start to restock, put all the items you do not regularly use in the inside cabinet, baskets, or drawers, and let the counter space remain empty. Use the storage for the essentials you require every day and try to tuck away everything else.

Replace the showerhead

You can make your bathroom look plush by replacing the shower with a luxurious model. However, ensure you pick something that can be easily replaced and does not require professional help. When searching for shower heads look for features that meet your needs like a handheld component or the massaging spray patterns. You could also use a rain shower head. If you have the budget, you can upgrade other bathroom fixtures like heated toilet seats, get frameless shower doors or use models with touchless automation.

Use calm tones

When it comes to the paint in your bathroom, use muted colors to build a tranquil space. Do not go for high-contrast colors like orange and blue or a black and white tone. These are bold and tend to energize instead of calming. You need to look for warm neutral colours inspired by nature and help create a peaceful palette to make your bathroom look like and feel a spa. To further enhance your relaxation experience, consider adding a soothing element like a diffuser or buy massage chair for that perfect spa-like retreat at home.

Buy new toiletries

Little details can make your bathroom aesthetically pleasing and the right products can make your skin and hair look stunning. Buy plush toiletries with spa-worthy packaging and if your favorites do not come in such packaging, you can decant your hand soap and shampoo into a pretty bottle. Even clear glass jars are an ideal alternative for holding cotton rounds, sponges, or other items. Place everything on a tray by the sink to make it look luxurious.

Ensure adequate bathroom storage

You can have a clean and uncluttered look in your bathroom by adding more storage space. Besides using cabinets or drawers, you can add baskets, hooks, mount shelves, and other furniture to improve organization and increase storage. If you like to store items together, add small containers and divide everything into different categories. This will ensure everything is well organized and easy to find.

Use rugs to soften the floor

Give a rich look to your bathroom with luxurious rugs to cover the floors. They will not only add coziness and character to the space but will spare you from having to step on the cold floor on chilly mornings. Pick a mat that is made from quick-drying material so that there are no bacteria or mold near the shower area.

Add a bench

All hotels and luxury spas have a bench in the shower and you can add the same in your home. Put a water-resistant bench in your bathroom so that you have a place where you sit and relax.

These are just a few easy ways you can add spa-like features inside your bathroom. You do not have to spend too much money or worry about going over budget. You might not even want to add everything mentioned here. Consider your requirements and preferences before you start the bathroom remodel project.
