25 Most Beautiful Beaches in Europe [You Should Visit]
We looked all over Europe, from Greece to Portugal, for the best hidden coves and most beautiful beaches in Europe that would be perfect for a summer trip that would let you forget about everything. Are you ready for vacation for summer?
1. Perpitch Beach, Isles of Scilly
The Isles of Scilly are a group of subtropical islands off the south west coast of England. They are a great place to find a beach to relax on. It’s hard to say which place is the best, but Perpitch Beach on the island of Saint Martin is without a doubt beautiful. The easiest way to get there is to take a boat from St. Mary’s, the main island, and spend the whole day there until the boat leaves to go back.
2. Cala Macarella, Minorca
Last but not least, Cala Macarella on the island of Menorca is one of the most beautiful beaches in Europe. A sea of intense emerald colors lives in a beautiful place hidden among rocks and surrounded by tall pine trees.
3. Rhodes Beach, Galicia
If you want to get away from the crowds, this gem of the Ces Islands has to be one of the ten best beaches in Europe. Playa de Rodas is, without a doubt, the most beautiful place on these virgin islands. It has a completely unique landscape, with white sand, lagoons, and cliffs that look out over the Atlantic Ocean.
4. San Giovanni di Sinis, Sardinia
All of the beaches in the north of Sardinia are beautiful, that much is true. But it’s also true that they are often full of tourists, especially in the summer. If you want to enjoy them without giving up peace, head to the west coast of the island, where the Sinis peninsula, half an hour from Oristano, has some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe, with dunes and clear water. By the ruined citadel of Tharros, the water is very clear.
5. Guéthary, Basque Country, France
Surfers from all over the world go to the beach of Guéthary in the Basque Country because it has two legendary waves: the right (Parlamenti) and the left (Avalanche). The two points, especially Avalanche, are only for experts, since the rocks around them at water level can’t be seen by someone without experience. But the view from the Alcyons quay or the beach is amazing, especially since we are in the smallest town on the coast of Aquitaine.
6. Psili Ammos, Patmos, Greece
This Greek beach has a long and interesting past. People say that Saint John wrote the Book of Revelation in a cave on this holy island in the Dodecanese. Its shallow waters make it easy to take a bath, and the scenery is beautiful. At the other end, there is a nudist area.
7. Saleccia beach, Corsica
One of the hardest places for tourists to get to in Corsica is the beautiful beach of Saleccia. This is because it is one of Corsica’s amazing beaches. The Agriates desert in the northwest of the island keeps it hidden from the rest of the world. If you can get past this natural barrier, you’ll find a real show on the other side: 1.5 kilometers of white sand and turquoise water that will leave you speechless.
8. Alacati, Turkey
Alacati is another beach that has made a name for itself in the world of surfing and kitesurfing, both for its waves and for the peace and quiet it gives people who enjoy these sports. In the province of Izmir, there are famous vineyard houses and even windmills that are more than 200 years old. There is also a beautiful view of the Aegean Sea.
9. Dhermi, Vlora Albania
This place is so great that you can’t keep it a “secret.” It will soon be a popular place for tourists to visit, but for now it is holding up and keeping its usual calm. Maybe the fact that you have to cross a pass at 1,200 meters above sea level to get there has kept people from going there in large numbers. But the landscape, with its mountains, bunkers from the Soviet era, and Albania’s best beaches in Europe, will make any traveler happy who is looking for peace.
10. Ilha Beach, Algarve
It’s true that millions of people visit the Algarve every year, especially in the summer, but you can still find quiet places to relax without having to fight for a spot on the beach. If you go east, you’ll find your secret place to hide. Praia de Ilha, a beautiful island near Tavira, is one example. It’s a great place to relax because the water is almost always still and it has a long coastline.
