After Twitter, the world’s richest man Elon Musk teased Twitter users about his next target: Coca-Cola. And, if that wasn’t enough to send the internet into a frenzy, he went on to say that he’ll buy the cold drink major to “put the cocaine back in”.
Weeks after Musk revealed his desire to buy Twitter, eliminate its content moderation measures, and turn the publicly traded firm private, things came to a head on Monday when the social media giant said it had accepted Musk’s $44 billion offer to buy the company.
“Next, I’m going to buy Coca-Cola to put the cocaine back in,” he tweeted, referring to the carbonated beverage’s original recipe, which was introduced in 1886 as a remedy for a variety of diseases. The tweet quickly went viral, earning over 2 million likes on the platform in just a few hours.

He also uploaded a screenshot of a tweet in which he stated that he is “going to buy McDonald’s and fix all the ice cream machines.” “Listen, I can’t do miracles, okay,” he said humorously to himself.
According to Bloomberg, though, even with all of Musk’s wealth, it may not be a dream that he can easily realize. While Musk’s personal fortune is presently valued at $253 billion, the beverage behemoth has a market capitalization of $284 billion, according to the study.

But it hasn’t stopped internet users from jumping on the bandwagon and making memes and jokes about what it would be like if Musk could actually pull it off. Soon after, hashtags like #CocaCola and #ElonMusk dominated global trends, leaving many people wondering what the “next company in his cart” will be. While some suggested ideas like McDonald’s and YouTube, others couldn’t envision what would happen if he actually gave it thought.
