Former Indian President Pranab Mukherjee Passes Away
Pranab Mukherjee, a veteran politician of the subcontinent and former president of India, is no more. The former president’s son Abhijit Mukherjee has confirmed it, according to the Times of India. He was 84.
The veteran politician had been admitted to the Army Research and Referral Hospital in Delhi since August 10. Since then, he had been in coma and ventilator support and had been battling various ailments for 20 days.
He fell in the bathroom the night before he was admitted to the hospital and suffered a head injury. He was taken to the hospital for a health checkup. After being taken to the hospital, he was diagnosed with coronavirus and the matter he tweeted himself.
Pranab Mukherjee also underwent surgery on the day of his admission to the hospital. A team of specialist doctors was monitoring Pranab Mukherjee’s health.
On Monday morning, the Army Hospital authorities informed that Pranab Mukherjee’s health condition was deteriorating.
Pranab Mukherjee was the President of India from 2012 to 2016.
