Former Indian President Pranab Mukherjee Infected with Coronavirus
Former Indian President Pranab Mukherjee has been diagnosed with the novel coronavirus. He made the announcement on his official Twitter account on Monday afternoon.
In a tweet, Pranab Mukherjee said, “On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for COVID-19 today. I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self isolate and get tested for COVID-19”.

Pranab Mukherjee, 84, was the President of India from 2012 to 2017. This veteran Congress leader became the first Bengali president of the country.
Meanwhile, the number of infections have crossed 2.2 million in India. It has become a hotspot for the deadly coronavirus. So far 44,000 people have died till now.
According to WorldoMeter, about 62,000 coronavirus cases have been detected in India in the last 24 hours. More than a thousand have died in the last 24 hours.
