You received a black-tie invitation in your email. What would you wear? The Swiss luxury brand has a reputation for using ceramic to produce high-quality watches that are lightweight, heat-resistant, hypoallergenic, durable, and extremely versatile. The latest in its ceramic watches include this Seamaster Diver reference that is rendered in sleek, masculine all-black ceramic. 

It’s an updated version of the 2019 Omega Seamaster 300M Black Ceramic and & Titanium, which, as the name suggests, was a blend of ceramic and titanium components. The latter material was used largely for the components that Omega could not manufacture in ceramic. However, times have changed and most of the components of the 2021 Seamaster are made of ceramic. These include the 43.5mm case, bezel, crowns, dial, and strap buckle. 

Despite its all-black finish, it’s interesting how legibility is not an issue with this watch. It’s owed to the finishing techniques applied in this reference, including the use of the special anthracite-colored Superluminova lume that glows blue. Overall, the watch looks and feels elegant on the wrist, and with its stylish all-black finish, it doesn’t look appropriate in black-tie events—that’s despite its high-quality black rubber strap. 

2. Seamaster Aqua Terra Co-Axial GMT Chronograph Ref. 231.13.43.52.02.001

This classic watch pays tribute to the brand’s rich maritime heritage, with its distinctive dial design, reminiscent of the wooden decks of luxury sailboats. It features a silvery dial with the Teak Concept pattern, white lacquered sub-dials, and rose gold-tone hands. There is also a date display at 6 o’clock, all of which are protected with scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass. 

A bezel is mounted on the case and is presented on an elegant alligator strap. This Seamaster Aqua Terra watch runs on the Co-Axial Caliber 9605 movement visible through the transparent case back. It has a 60-hour power reserve and is water-resistant at 150 meters. 

3. Seamaster Aqua Terra Co-Axial GMT Chronograph Ref. 231.13.43.52.06.001

If you’re looking for a black version of the Aqua Terra Co-Axial GMT Chronograph, this one is for you. Instead of a silvery dial, it features a black Teak dial on a 43mm stainless steel case and a black alligator strap. It features the same sub-dial displays at 3 and 9 o’clock and a date display at 6 o’clock. 

What’s great about a black dial watch is that it easily matches formal attire. Plus, it can be paired with almost anything as long as you do it right. This reference is also powered by the Co-Axial Caliber 9605 movement with a power reserve of 60 hours and water resistance of 150 meters. 

4. Seamaster Aqua Terra Co-Axial Annual Calendar Ref. 231.13.43.22.03.002

Models with a deep blue dial make for a formal watch, particularly when paired with a matching leather strap. This blue dial Seamaster Aqua Terra looks both classic and perfect for formal situations. 

It features a 43mm stainless steel case with a fixed stainless steel bezel. The blue dial sports luminous silver-tone hands and index hour markers. There’s also the distinct month and date windows at 3 o’clock—a feature of the annual calendar watches from Omega. The watch is powered by the Co-Axial Calibre 8601 automatic movement and is water-resistant at 150 meters.

5. Seamaster Aqua Terra Chronograph 42mm Automatic White Dial Ref. 2812.30.31

A watch that will get you noticed is one with a white dial complemented with blue indexes and hands similar to this Aqua Terra Chronograph. 

It features a white dial with three sub-dial displays and a date window at 6 o’clock. However, what renders this watch unique is that instead of the usual blue dial, it uses this classic color in its hands and indexes. Overall, this creates a legible watch that looks elegant and comfortable in a leather strap.
