WhatsApp web, the browser version of the messaging platform, is poised to receive a variety of new features. Our latest update brings exciting new features to enhance your experience.
Discover a sleek new sidebar, a refreshed dark mode, and the convenience of creating a username directly from our web client. Enjoy the seamless integration and improved functionality.
In October of this year, WhatsApp was said to be testing a new feature that would eliminate the need to share phone numbers by introducing usernames. Unfortunately, the functionality was only accessible to a small number of users and could only be used on the mobile version of the app.
According to a recent report by WABetaInfo, it appears that the developers are actively working on expanding the functionality to the web client. Just like the desktop version, users have the flexibility to change their username whenever they please.
At present, WhatsApp web conveniently displays buttons for ‘Communities’, ‘Status’, ‘Channels’, and ‘New Chat’ at the top left of the window. However, with the introduction of the new sidebar, these buttons will be moved to the left of the browser window, allowing users to effortlessly switch between different tabs.
In regards to the updated Dark mode, the developers have made adjustments to the background color to align with the visual appeal of the dark theme and promote a more comfortable viewing experience for the eyes.
The features mentioned above are currently being developed and are accessible to beta users of the app. WhatsApp intends to release them in a future version of the app.
Although the web version of WhatsApp may not have all the functionalities of the mobile and desktop apps, the developers are actively working to bridge the gap and enhance the user experience by regularly incorporating features from the mobile app.
WhatsApp recently introduced some exciting new features. Users can now pin messages in a chat, conveniently check user status from the chat window, and take advantage of a new calendar search option.
