Jawan Enters 1000 Crore Club: Becomes First Hindi Film to Gross ₹1000 Crore Worldwide in 18 Days
The movie “Jawan,” featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Nayanthara, and Vijay Sethupathi in leading roles, has achieved a remarkable milestone by grossing ₹1000 crore at the worldwide box office.
Red Chillies Entertainment shared this latest achievement on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, with a message that read, “History in the maKING ft. Jawan! Have you watched it yet?” Filmmaker Atlee also shared the news and expressed his gratitude, saying, “God is so kind to us. Thank you all…” Notably, “Jawan” marks Shah Rukh Khan’s second film to surpass the ₹1000 crore mark, with the first being “Pathaan.”
The accompanying video provided a sneak peek of Shah Rukh Khan in his role as Vikram Rathore and also featured his son Azad from the movie “Jawan.” The text displayed in the clip proudly stated, ” ₹1004.92 crore worldwide gross.” In response to this announcement, one X user enthusiastically predicted, “SRK (Shah Rukh Khan) + Atlee + Anirudh Ravichander (the film’s music composer)… ₹1500 crore soon.” Another individual on Twitter pointed out, “Shah Rukh Khan is the only Indian actor with two ₹1000 crore grossers worldwide.”

Box office: Jawan vs Pathaan
Earlier this year, the movie “Pathaan,” featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone, and John Abraham, achieved the milestone of crossing ₹1000 crore in global box office earnings. The film, which was released on January 25, reached the ₹1000 crore mark worldwide in approximately four weeks, specifically on February 21. In contrast, “Jawan” accomplished this feat in just 18 days, having been released on September 7 in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu languages.

In its third weekend, “Jawan” experienced a significant surge in its box office performance. The film had accumulated a total worldwide gross collection of ₹979.08 crore by Saturday. On Sunday, it added an additional ₹25.84 crore to surpass the milestone of ₹1004 crore in worldwide gross earnings. Meanwhile, reports indicate that “Jawan” garnered ₹14.95 crore nett in India on its third Sunday, bringing its domestic box office total to ₹560.78 crore.
It’s worth noting that the film had an impressive start in India, amassing a remarkable ₹75 crore nett across all languages on its opening day. In the first week, “Jawan” collected ₹389.88 crore in India, followed by an additional ₹136.1 crore nett in the second week.
In addition to Shah Rukh Khan, the movie features Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in leading roles, with appearances by Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Ridhi Dogra, Lehar Khan, Girija Oak, and Sanjeeta Bhattacharya. Notably, Sanjay Dutt and Deepika Padukone make cameo appearances in the film.
