Covax to Distribute 14.4 million Vaccines to 31 More Countries
Covax will provide 14.4 million doses of Covid-19 vaccine to 31 other countries by next week, the WHO said on Friday. It warned people not to waste, through complacency, the hope that vaccines bring.
Total 20 million doses of vaccines have already been provided in 20 countries around the world through the global vaccine delivery initiative Covax. The Covid-19 vaccine aims to ensure that poor countries get the vaccine by this week.
The World Health Organization warns that there could be more waves of the coronavirus if people think that the crisis is over.
“If countries are not careful, the third and fourth waves of the Coronavirus pandemic could strike,” Ryan warned. Therefore, the hope that the input has been given should not be destroyed by removing the protection taken to deal with the Coronavirus.”

World Health Organization Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus praised the first full dose supply at the initiative of Covex. He also said wealthy countries were nonetheless still leaving others behind in the vaccination rush.
Tedros added that Covax vaccines will reach a total of 51 countries by providing vaccines to 31 other countries next week. This is a hopeful progress. Yet the vaccine being given by Covax’s initiative is relatively little.
Covax’s first round of vaccines is being provided until the end of May. Through this initiative, 2 to 3 per cent of the world’s total population is getting the vaccination.
This is a global initiative led by the World Health Organization (WHO) to provide free vaccines to poor and middle income countries to prevent the disease. Ghana, the African country, has received its first vaccines through this initiative. Total 198 countries have participated in the Covax programme.
