ATL Airport to Get Busier: How that will impact Atlanta Airport Parking?

Atlanta Airport

Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL), one of the busiest airports in the world, also serves as Delta Air Lines’ primary hub. Delta Air Lines’ primary hub at Atlanta Airport Parking is the world’s largest airline hub, with over 1,000 daily flights to 225 domestic and international destinations. Delta Air Lines plans to operate 199 routes from Atlanta airport this month, including 52 international flights. According to OAG data, it has approximately 44,773 services in total and more than 1,400 take-offs and arrivals per day. So, what this means to the world’s busiest airport? ATL airport may witness heavy passenger volume in September, with Atlanta airport parking spaces rapidly filling up. With the people starting to travel more after vaccination, it is sure that ATL airport will get busier soon. It might make airport parking in Atlanta nearly impossible!

There’s even more! Despite a drop in passenger traffic last year owing to the pandemic, ATL airport was voted the world’s most efficient airport for the 18th consecutive year by the Air Transport Research Society recently. From 1998 to 2019, ATL airport had the world’s highest passenger traffic. Well, you all love to travel via an airport that operates safely and efficiently even with massive passenger volume, and ATL airport is the one! With nearly 200,000 passengers passing through Atlanta every day in 2021, you can imagine how difficult it will be to find onsite airport parking. Even though ATL has plenty of onsite parking, getting an ATL airport parking spot will be difficult if you do not prebook!

Onsite Atlanta airport parking

Around 30,000 parking spots are available at the Hartsfield-Jackson Airport. They offer short-term and long-term parking. The airport offers separate parking lots for domestic and international travelers. So, getting airport parking in Atlanta won’t be a headache if you plan and book your spot in advance. That guarantees you a hassle-free ride to the airport, and you may not have to circle the lots searching for a perfect parking spot.

Short-term Atlanta airport parking

Short-term airport parking in Atlanta is ideal for those who only need to park for a few minutes or a few hours. Domestic travelers can use the Hourly Parking (North and South lots), Daily Parking, Economy, ATL West Parking, and Park-Ride lots for short-term ATL parking.

The lots charge $3 for the first two hours and $4 for 3-6 hours, and $36 after six hours. Using short-term airport parking at Atlanta in the Daily Parking lot charges you $3 per hour. In addition, the Daily lot has a 4-level overnight parking area directly across from each terminal. The Economy lot, which is close to the Hourly lots, charges $3 per hour.
