The Immersive View on Google Maps is Updated. Here’s the Detail

Google Maps

Listen to the Podcast:

Immersive View for Maps was presented at Google’s developer conference in 2022. The company announced at its Google I/O event on May 10 that the trip tool will be improved this year.

The new update adds a “multidimensional experience” to routes so that you can see everything about your trip, including the weather, before you drive, walk, or ride your bike.

Google also talked about Android 14, its newest operating system, which will be released later this year. It also announced the new Pixel 7A and Pixel Fold phones to add to its range.

We’ll tell you what’s happening with Google Maps Immersive View and when it will be available.

What Changes are Coming to Immersive View?

Soon, you’ll be able to see bike lanes, sidewalks, intersections, and parking along your way when you use Google Maps Immersive View. You can use the route view if you are driving, walking, or even riding a bike. AI and past driving patterns will be used by the app to show you what traffic might look like at the time you’ll be on the road. For example, if you’re going to work at 8 a.m., Immersive View might show a lot of cars, but if you’re out for a drive in the evening, it might only show a few.

You can also use the time slider to see how the weather and air quality change throughout the day. For example, it might be warm when you leave your house in the morning, but if it starts to rain, the temperature might drop, so you might want to grab a jacket and rain boots.

How does Immersive View Work?

Google’s Maps app has 3D models made by putting together pictures from Street View and from the air using AI. The idea is to make you feel like you’re already at the place you want to visit, like a restaurant or neighborhood, before you even get there.

When will the Immersive View Update be Available?

Google announced that it would soon start implementing Immersive View for routes. These 15 cities will have the new update available: Amsterdam, Berlin, Dublin, Florence and Venice, Italy, Las Vegas, London, Miami, New York, Paris, San Francisco, San Jose, Seattle, and Tokyo are just a few of the cities that are mentioned.
