This problem occurs when either the airway closes during sleeping or the brain does not send the right signals to start breathing. This causes a person to briefly stop breathing and then abruptly start again, and this happens frequently throughout the night.

Unfortunately, many people with this issue do not even know that they have it. Ignoring the symptoms or refusing treatment can result in a variety of health issues, such as diabetes, heart attacks, and strokes. If someone suspects sleep apnea, it is important to seek medical care, as there are treatments, such as a full face sleep apnea mask, that can treat the issue. 

3 Ways to Beat That Tired Feeling

Because sleep apnea interrupts one’s sleep pattern throughout the night, one of the common symptoms is daytime fatigue. Fortunately, there are some ways to manage this tiredness. Depending on the severity of the sleep apnea, making simple lifestyle changes may not only help reduce fatigue, but they may also be enough to improve sleep apnea.

  1. Exercise

One way to help combat feeling tired is to exercise. Although it may be difficult to get motivated to work out when you are low on energy, the activity will help boost your energy levels. 

Healthcare professionals recommend 150 minutes of physical activity a week, but if people are exercising for the first time, they should start with less and work up to that amount. Good ways to get the body moving include yoga, swimming, walking, dancing, and biking.

Stress can play a role in tiredness, as it saps the body of energy. Working out is one way to reduce stress levels. Obesity is also a risk factor for sleep apnea, so exercising to lose weight may help someone reduce the severity of the problem.

  1. Change eating habits

What, how, and when someone eats can make a difference in fatigue levels. instead of eating one or two big meals a day, one should eat smaller meals more frequently throughout the day. Staying away from processed foods and eating healthier will also help.

  1. Change sleeping habits

People should start partaking in relaxing activities at least one hour before going to bed and go to bed at the same time every night. They should aim for eight or nine hours a night and limit naps as well as keep the room dark and cool.

If changing habits does not help with fatigue, a person may need to search for the best CPAP machine.

For many people, the only thing that seems to help sleep apnea is a CPAP machine. This forces air into the airway, preventing the throat from closing. This results in a regular breathing pattern, and people who wear a p10 CPAP mask report that they get a great night of sleep and no longer struggle with symptoms such as fatigue, trouble focusing, irritability, morning headaches, and memory problems. Using a CPAP machine helps the symptoms disappear within days.
