Lizzo Reacts Hilariously to South Park’s Ozempic Joke

Lizzo Reacts to South Park Ozempic Joke

Lizzo, the acclaimed singer and body positivity advocate, recently had a hilarious reaction to a “South Park” episode that featured her in a satirical light.

The episode, titled “South Park: The End of Obesity,” humorously presented a weight loss drug named “Lizzo,” prompting the singer to share her amusing response on social media

Lizzo’s lighthearted take on the parody highlights her ability to embrace humor and continue spreading her message of self-love and body positivity.

Lizzo’s Social Media Response

Taking to social media, Lizzo shared her reaction via Instagram and TikTok, humorously expressing her initial fear of being mentioned in the popular animated series

“My worst fear has been actualized: I’ve been referenced in a ‘South Park’ episode,” she joked before viewing the clip in a side-by-side video.

Her reaction video showed her visibly stunned and amused by the faux commercial for the weight loss drug named after her.

The ‘South Park’ Episode

In the episode, the character Eric Cartman is prescribed a weight loss drug called “Lizzo” by his doctor.

The doctor explains, “She’s a really good singer who talks about body positivity and just being happy with the way you look.

I want you to listen to Lizzo five times a day and watch her videos just before bedtime. Oh, and I’m afraid you’ll have to be on Lizzo for the rest of your life.”

The episode also features a commercial for “Lizzo,” marketed as an affordable alternative to other weight loss drugs like Ozempic and Mounjaro.

The commercial humorously claims that “70% of patients no longer cared how much they weighed” and that “Lizzo helps you eat everything you want and keep physical activity to a minimum” while listing exaggerated side effects.

Lizzo’s Take on the Parody

Lizzo, embracing the parody, commented at the end of her reaction video, “That’s crazy. I really showed the world how to love yourself and not give a f— to the point where these men in Colorado know who the f— I am and put it on their cartoon that’s been around for 25 years.”

She reiterated her message of self-love and resilience, stating, “I show y’all how not to give a f—, and I’m going to keep on showing you how not to give a f—.”

Body Positivity and Criticism

Throughout her career, Lizzo has been an advocate for body positivity, though she has faced criticism and body-shaming comments.

In a recent interview with The New York Times, Lizzo discussed the evolution of the body positivity movement, expressing that it has shifted towards body neutrality. She candidly shared, “I’m not going to lie and say I love my body every day.

The bottom line is the way you feel about your body changes every single day. There are some days I adore my body, and others when I don’t feel completely positive.”

Context of the ‘South Park’ Parody

The “South Park” episode comes after a turbulent period for Lizzo, who was sued by former dancers for harassment and weight shaming.

Despite the allegations, Lizzo has continued to promote her message of self-acceptance and body positivity.

Final thoughts

Lizzo’s reaction to her portrayal in “South Park” underscores her resilience and commitment to body positivity.

While the parody may have initially caught her off guard, Lizzo’s embrace of the joke and her continued advocacy for self-love highlight her influential role in changing the narrative around body image.

As Lizzo continues her journey, her message remains clear: love yourself and don’t let negativity dictate your worth.
