Jaya Ahsan Wins Award for ‘Robibaar’ at Madrid International Film Festival
Jaya Ahsan has won the award in the best actress category in foreign language films at the Madrid International Film Festival.
She was recognized for her role in Kolkata’s film “Robibaar (On a Sunday)”, reports Anandabazar.
Apart from Jaya Ahsan, Indian director Atanu Ghosh was awarded for the Best Original Screenplay of the film festival.

“Robibaar” made history in the world of Bengali film. Prasenjit was Jaya’s co-star in the film. What if two former known people face on a Sunday? They have a past. What if they come to each other in the event of a tragedy? This is the picture of Atanu Ghosh looking for answers to that question.
Jaya Ahsan has been elected out of 18 people. Many people don’t understand the psychological aspects of the film. They’ve found it hard. This movie was released in Bangladesh in February.
She in a Facebook post confirmed the news of the award. She said, what wonderful good news for all of them at this time of the day. Congratulations to all, many love.
“Robibaar” was released on December 27 last year as the last film of the year. Prasenjit and Jaya were couples once in the film. It was released in Bangladesh on February 21 under the Safta Agreement.
