After the release of the iPhone 13, Apple’s iPhone 14 Pro is rumored to be ditching the notch.
Pre-orders for Apple’s iPhone 13 began on September 17 and have gotten a lot of positive feedback. Details on the iPhone 14 Pro have also been revealed as a result of this. Starting with iPhone 14 Pro models, the Cupertino-based tech giant plans to replace the current outmoded notch design debuted with iPhone X with a “punch-hole display design.”
Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known Apple analyst, claims that this will finally bring iPhones closer to what their competitors look like, at least in terms of display design.
A new iPhone SE with 5G compatibility (1H22), a new and more affordable 6.7-inch iPhone (2H22), and two new high-end models equipped with a punch-hole display (replacing the notch area design) and a 48MP wide camera are among the hardware selling points for 2022 iPhones, according to the expert.
According to the source, Apple will use two alternative screen sizes for next year’s iPhone 14 lineup: 6.1-inches and 6.7-inches.
If Apple sticks to the same nomenclature, the iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max, as well as the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max, might be released. The new hole-punch display will only be available on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max; other versions are likely to keep the notch.
The top-end non-pro model (iPhone 14 Max) could be priced under $900, according to Kuo. The 6.7-inch iPhone 13 Pro Max is the only “Max” model in the current iPhone lineup, and it costs $1,099.
Kuo, on the other hand, no longer believes that an under-display Touch ID would be included in future iPhones, at least not until the second half of 2023.
