By the end of his last year of college, he was 6 feet 8 inches tall. He’d score 23.6 points, get ten rebounds, and give out 4.3 assists on average per game. Then, during the NBA playoffs in 1988, he became the starting small forward and helped the Bulls reach the semi-finals for the first time in ten years.

Because of this, he was chosen as an all-star for the first time in 1990. During the 1990-1991 season, Pippen became the team’s primary defensive stopper. He was named to the NBA’s all-defensive second team for his efforts.

Pippen was a big reason the Bulls won three straight NBA titles from 1996 to 1998. Later, the Houston Rockets got him in exchange for Roy Rogers. He played for the Portland Trailblazers from 1998 to 2003. He later quit Portland and joined the Bulls. On October 5, 2004, he said he was leaving his job.
