At its Galaxy Unpacked 2022 event on Tuesday (February 9), Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S22 series, which includes the company’s latest flagship handsets. Samsung has released three new S-series smartphones, similar to last year, with the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra joining the lineup this year. The smartphones feature AMOLED panels with a 120Hz refresh rate and are paired with the newest chipsets for high-end smartphones. Samsung’s Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra versions now provide 45W wired charging. On the Galaxy S22 series, Samsung also touts superior “Nightography” low-light photography enhancements. The Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ have the same camera arrangement, but the Galaxy S22 Ultra is the first S-series smartphone to include a S Pen built into the phone’s chassis — and the first Samsung smartphone since the Galaxy Note 20.
Price and availability information for the Samsung Galaxy S22, and Galaxy S22+
The 8GB RAM+128GB and 8GB+256GB storage variants for the Samsung Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S22+ will be available. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra will be available with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, and 12GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
The Samsung Galaxy S22 costs $799 (approximately Rs. 59,900) while the Galaxy S22 Plus costs $999. (roughly Rs. 74,800). Prices for the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra start at $1,199. (roughly Rs. 89,700). The business has not yet provided pricing information for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra in India. The Galaxy S22 series of smartphones will be available on February 25th, according to Samsung.

Accelerometer, ambient light sensor, barometer, geomagnetic, gyroscope, hall, and proximity sensor are some of the sensors on board. An ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor is also included on the smartphone. The Samsung Galaxy S22 has a 3,700mAh battery with 25W fast charging, 15W wireless charging, and Wireless PowerShare for reverse wireless charging. The phone weighs 168 grams and has dimensions of 146×70.6×7.6mm.

The Samsung Galaxy S22+ is powered by Android 12 and One UI 4.1. The phone has a 6.6-inch full-HD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with Samsung’s Eye Comfort Shield for blue light reduction and an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate that can be reduced to 10Hz, as well as a peak brightness of 1,750 nits. The Galaxy S22+ is powered by an octa-core 4nm processor and up to 12GB of RAM.
