Premises liability refers to the failure of one or more parties to ensure the safety and security of others entering his or her property. This kind of injury or death can be caused by accidents that take place during the construction process, unsafe playgrounds, and dangerous structures. These types of cases are usually complicated because they can involve questions about the landowner’s compliance with code ordinances and whether the injuries were technically caused by a defect in a building in addition to who was responsible for the accident.

4. Workplace Accidents

Workplace accidents include slips and falls, defective machinery and equipment, and exposure to harmful substances. Unlike premises liability cases, workplace deaths are more straightforward to prove because the right cause of death is usually some sort of injury sustained on the job.
