World Cup Champion Emiliano Martinez’s Kolkata Tour
Argentina’s World Cup-winning goalkeeper Emi Martinez has confirmed his travel to India’s City of Joy, Kolkata, in July, when he will visit the club tent of Indian Super League champions Mohun Bagan.
Martinez will be in Kolkata for two days, beginning with a stop at India’s national club, Mohun Bagan, on July 4th. Satadru Dutta, who brought legends such as Diego Maradona, Pele, Cafu, and Dunga to the city, has made his mark yet again by bringing a world football superstar who is still in his prime and will be gracing the former capital of India just a few months after becoming world champions.
The Argentina football team has tremendous popularity in Kolkata, and supporters who have seen the likes of Maradona and Messi will be rooting for Martinez today, whose heroics helped La Albiceleste win their third FIFA World Cup trophy after a 36-year wait.
The tour’s general schedule is as follows for all supporters hoping to catch a peek of the Aston Villa man:-
1) Mohun Bagan tent on July 4th.
2) On July 5th, Martinez will pay tribute to Argentine superstar Diego Maradona at a Maradona Memorial event in Kolkata’s Lake Town, and he will also appear in the finals of the All Bengal Tie Breaker Contest “Pache Pach” at Sribhumi Sporting Ground. On the same day, he would also spend time with needy children and hold a master lesson at the Santosh Mitra Square ground in Lebutala.
3) He will pay a visit to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and Indian cricket legend Sourav Ganguly.
4) he is also slated to attend a few sponsor events during his two-day tour.
