Cristiano Ronaldo Wins Player of the Century Award in Dubai
Cristiano Ronaldo has been named the best player of the century at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai. The award was handed over to the Portuguese star at a glittering ceremony in Dubai on Sunday night.
According to Goal.com, Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, won the award beating Lionel Messi. Ronaldo has won five Champions Leagues. Also, he has won three league titles for Manchester United, two for Real Madrid, two for Juventus and one for Portugal, one for European Championship and one for UEFA Nations League.

“It’s a pleasure to win titles,” Ronaldo said at the event, reports Goal.com. He feels really proud of this and said without a team, great coaches and clubs it is not possible for him.
He also wrote on Twitter: “Couldn’t be happier with tonight’s award! As I’m about to celebrate my 20th year as a professional footballer, Globe Soccer Player Of The Century is a recognition that I receive with so much joy and pride!”

The Globe Soccer Awards is founded in 2010. It acknowledges excellence in football with an annual gala dinner and awards ceremony.
