Apple Urges iPhone, iPad Users to Update Their Devices
Apple on Wednesday advises its users to update their devices immediately to fix security flaws. Updates were made available to customers after finding vulnerabilities that could be “actively exploited” by hackers.
The company made the software updates available on Tuesday, adding a rare advisory that suggests it is a serious threat.

Apple credited anonymous researchers for pointing out the vulnerability, but provided few details about the nature of the threat.
The company said one of the vulnerabilities affects the “kernel” – the nerve center of Apple’s operating system, iOS – while two others affect WebKit, the web browser engine used by Safari and other applications.
The update is for several generations of devices, starting with the iPhone 6.
