The latest addition to the successful Tiger franchise, Tiger 3, starring Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif, had high expectations attached after its impressive 44.50 crore opening weekend during the festive period. However, the film’s collections took a drastic dip after the initial days. After 10 days, Tiger 3’s overall earnings fell short, even compared to the previous Tiger Zinda Hai. The journey so far has been rocky for the big-budget action thriller.
Hopes of stable collections were quickly dashed as Tiger 3 proceeded to register noticeable declines in earnings every single day since its release. Early estimates indicate the film added only 5.25–6.25 crores on its 11th day, marking yet another drop of 22% from the previous day’s 6.70 crores. This downward spiral is alarming for a film led by megastars Salman, Katrina, and Emraan Hashmi.
As per early projections, the total collections for Tiger 3 in India after 11 days are estimated at between 250.05 and 251.05 crores. Globally, the film has crossed the 400 crore gross mark, which is an achievement for Bollywood. However, considering initial predictions going as high as 600 crores worldwide, the current numbers seem underwhelming. With less than 3 weeks remaining in its theatrical run, Tiger 3 faces steep competition from upcoming releases like Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Animal’ on December 1. Taking away screens and audience attention, these new films may further diminish prospects for the Salman Khan biggie. The road ahead looks difficult for Tiger 3 to stage a recovery.
