Listen to the Podcast:
Skytrax, an aviation website, has released its ranking of the world’s top airports for 2023. Changi Airport in Singapore has surpassed last year’s winner, Hamad International Airport in Qatar, to take the top spot.
Dubai International Airport made the list as well, ranking 17th in the rating based on data from the largest annual worldwide airport customer satisfaction survey.
The world’s busiest international airport fell three spots from last year’s Skytrax survey.
The Skytrax World Airport Awards are among the most prestigious in the airport sector. The annual ranking is based on travellers’ airport experiences, with passengers asked to rate everything from check-in procedures to airport facilities.
Changi Airport in Singapore is no stranger to topping the Skytrax list.
The hub previously topped the rankings 12 times but fell from first place during the global pandemic when passenger numbers into and out of Singapore decreased. The green-filled aviation hub, which features waterfalls, gigantic trampolines, and a glass canopy bridge, will also have the world’s best airport hotel in 2023 – the Crowne Plaza Changi Airport.
Qatar is now the world’s second-best airport, with Hamad International also being named the cleanest and best airport in the Middle East, as well as the greatest airport for shopping.
