WhatsApp Introduces Its Own Tool to Create Stickers
Stickers on WhatsApp can be a fun way to talk, but there’s no way to make one right in the app.
To fix this, the messaging app owned by Meta is now testing a tool that lets people make their own stickers. This will get rid of the need to use stickers from third-party sites. Here’s what you need to know.
WhatsApp Tests Sticker Maker Tool
WhatsApp has put out version 23.10.0.74 of its iOS test update, which includes the tool for making stickers. According to a report by WABetaInfo, there will be a choice to “New Sticker” under the chat share sheet of a specific chat.
This choice will use the API in iOS 16, which basically lets you copy and paste the subject of an image somewhere else. Using the same features, a WhatsApp logo will be made. This, along with some changing tools (like the ability to get rid of the background), will let you make the perfect sticker you want. A screenshot of the function in use has been shared. You can look at it here.
It is being tried as part of WhatsApp for iOS, but it could soon be added for Android users as well. To remind you, the PC and web versions of WhatsApp already have a similar feature. In the app versions of WhatsApp, there are a number of sticker packs available, but you still can’t make your own.
Still, there’s no word on when WhatsApp’s sticker making tool will be made official for users. Since it is in the testing process, we can expect the news to come out very soon.
At the same time, WhatsApp is also trying a redesign for Android based on the one for iOS. We can expect a new navigation bar at the bottom (the current one is at the top) and a new drop-down menu for messages with choices like Delete, Forward, Reply, Keep, and Info.
