Morning Workout Tips for the Beginners

To put it kindly, it might be difficult to drag yourself away from the comfort of your warm bed and into an early workout. But some of the richest men in the world adhere to it religiously. Tim Cook, the CEO of Apple, wakes up at 3:45 AM to work out, while Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson lifts weights at 4:00 AM.

Getting up early to work out in the morning can have many advantages, including reducing the amount of calories you consume throughout the day, lowering your blood pressure, and preparing you for happy hour after work.

If working out in the wee hours of the morning and the effort needed for an honest workout seem impossible, take advice from these seven men who all rise before 6am to begin their daily workouts. You are capable of doing it. Not only that you can do the workout for your weight loss

1. Find a friend

Ryan Wilke, 32
Co-founder of Throwback Fitness

When Wilke begins his fitness courses at 5:30 in the morning, he offers this important piece of advise for anyone wishing to begin (and maintain) an early exercise routine: Get a buddy. “You’ll likely work more than if you were exercising alone,” the expert said. “Not only will you help each other be accountable.

2. Set yourself up for success

Bishoy Tadros, 30

Profession: Sales

It’s all about preparation for Tadros, who gets up between 4:30 and 5:15 in the morning to go for a run, a spin class, or a high-intensity interval training (HIIT) class. Being systematic makes it easy to execute plans, such as setting the alarm clock early the night before or laying out his clothes for the morning workout.

3. Put down the phone

Andrew Connor, 29

Director of Global Sports and Athlete Marketing at Reebok

No matter where he travels in the world, Connor finds comfort in his daily workout. He just spent eight months in Shanghai for work. What was his secret to success? Put the phone down when you’re finished: “I make better decisions throughout the day when I get seven or eight hours of sleep,” he claims. He uses a short cord to charge his phone in bed rather than using it to browse social media. He is able to focus, divert his attention from himself, and enjoy some “me” time in this way.

4. Focus on your “why”

Rhys Athayde, 24 years old

Founding Trainer of DOGPOUND

Athayde uses his “Why?” to keep motivated when his alarm goes off at 4:30 in the morning. “We all experience difficulties and limitations,” he claims. “I could have avoided the gym because I had scoliosis as a child, severe asthma, food allergies, and very poor eyesight. I instead use them as inspiration to work even harder every day. Others don’t have the opportunity to get up and leave, which is sufficient for him.

5. Change your perception

Matt Delaney, 35

Equinox Tier X Trainer

Delaney gets out of bed at 3:50 in the morning and is on her way to New York by the time most guys are up. She lives in Westchester. But if you believe that working out requires being at a gym, he advises you to reconsider: “We’ve been conditioned to assume that exercises happen in a specific location or that they must last for a long time in order to be effective.” The majority of physical activity can, in fact, enhance overall health outcomes.

Start modest rather than viewing anything less than running four miles and squatting 300 pounds as a failure. Try moving from your bed to your living room bodyweight circuit. You can progress up to the gym from there.

6. Find something you like

Stephen Wright, 31

Director of public relations

Wright overcame his dependence on cigarettes by incorporating more fitness and wellbeing into his daily schedule; he still works out in the gym at six in the morning. Exercise shouldn’t feel like a chore if you do it properly, she says. Instead, it should make you joyful. Getting up to exercise on the treadmill in the morning won’t be any more fun if you already detest it. Up until you discover anything that sticks, try new things.

7. Think big

Jordan Slotopolsky, 32

Digital Marketing Sales

The bad news is that, in his opinion, there is no secret to making getting up at 5 a.m. agreeable. Even yet, Slotopolsky has incorporated morning workout into his schedule because he values the outcomes of his labor more than an extra hour of sleep. He advises, “You won’t always be motivated, but keep going anyway”: Want abs? Nobody has ever gotten abs by snoozing their alarm.
