Miley Cyrus Chooses Deep Bonds Over Celebrity Friendships: ‘Doesn’t Feel Like My People’

Miley Cyrus Celebrity Friendships Quality Over Quantity

The “Flowers” singer recently shared insights into her current stance on celebrity friendships during an interview with David Letterman on his show, My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. Miley admitted that she doesn’t maintain many friendships within the celebrity world, focusing instead on deeper connections.

A Shift in Perspective

Reflecting on her career and personal life, Cyrus revealed, “I am not very active or a very active part of my community of other artists, entertainers and celebrities.

” She referenced her recent Grammy win and performance, suggesting that while she appreciates the recognition, the celebrity scene doesn’t feel like home to her. “It just doesn’t feel like my people when I’m in that room,” she added.

A Shift in Perspective

Despite this, Miley highlighted her longstanding friendship with Beyoncé. “There are certain artists like Beyoncé — who, like us, we’ve known each other for a long time,” she said.

This bond traces back to their early interactions, including a memorable 2007 performance where Miley shared the stage with Beyoncé and Rihanna. “I was, like, sandwiched between Rihanna and Queen Bey, and they’re fully grown up, gorgeous, and probably similar to my age now.

Towering over me, completely stunning,” Cyrus recalled, adding how kind Beyoncé was to her during those early days.

Kindness and Consistency

For Miley, friendships in the industry are rooted in kindness and consistency rather than frequent social interactions. “So I’m a part of my community in that way but, again, it’s all quality, not quantity. I’m not very active in that,” she explained.

Reflections on Family and Fame

In the same interview, Cyrus also opened up about her relationship with her father, Billy Ray Cyrus. Addressing rumors of a rift, she described inheriting certain traits from him, including a touch of narcissism.

However, she also praised his grounding qualities. “He always did, even when he was super famous,” she noted, appreciating his connection to nature and reality.

Reflections on Family and Fame

Miley contrasted her father’s challenging childhood with her own more privileged upbringing. “My childhood — I mean, we can go and talk about the hard times or the struggles — but I had food, I had love, I grew up in a beautiful big house and my dad didn’t have that,” she explained, acknowledging the different paths their lives have taken.

Miley Cyrus’s candid revelations about her selective approach to celebrity friendships and her reflections on family dynamics provide a deeper understanding of the person behind the star. Her focus on meaningful connections over quantity highlights a mature perspective on relationships within the often superficial world of fame.
