Philadelphia Eagles’ star running back Saquon Barkley is celebrating his first Super Bowl victory, but he isn’t happy with how some Eagles fans treated Taylor Swift during the big game.
In an interview with Howard Stern on SiriusXM on Wednesday (Feb. 12), Barkley expressed his disappointment after Swift was loudly booed at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans. The 14-time Grammy winner was attending the game to support her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, and his team, the Kansas City Chiefs.
“I remember that they showed [Swift] on the jumbotron and she got booed,” Barkley said. “I don’t get it. I don’t get why she was getting hate there. She’s there supporting her significant other and she’s made the game bigger.”
Taylor Swift’s Reaction to the Booing
Swift, who has been a major presence at Chiefs games throughout the season, appeared unfazed by the boos. When her face was shown on the stadium’s big screens, she simply side-eyed the reaction and laughed it off.
Despite the negative reception from some Eagles fans, Swift remained at the game until the end. Unfortunately for her and other Chiefs supporters, Kansas City lost to Philadelphia with a final score of 40-22.

Barkley wasn’t the only one defending Swift after the incident. Tennis legend Serena Williams and rapper Flavor Flav also showed their support online.
“I love you @taylorswift13 don’t listen to those booo!!” Williams wrote on X (formerly Twitter). Flavor Flav also chimed in on Bluesky, referencing Swift’s hit song with the message: “Just Shake It Off.”
Jimmy Kimmel Responds to Donald Trump’s Comments
The controversy escalated further when former U.S. President Donald Trump commented on the incident. On Truth Social, Trump wrote, “The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift. She got BOOED out of the Stadium. MAGA is very unforgiving!”
However, talk show host Jimmy Kimmel quickly pushed back on this claim. Speaking on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Monday (Feb. 10), he said, “She didn’t get booed out of the stadium. Unlike you, she stayed for the whole game — and it was the Eagles fans who were booing her. But you’re right, it’s all about you.”
