Discord to Enable Direct Xbox Game Streaming on its Platform
Exciting news for Xbox owners! Discord has announced that it’s expanding a fan-favorite feature, previously exclusive to PC and mobile users, to the Xbox platform.
Soon, players on Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One will be able to stream their games directly through Discord.
In a press release shared today, Discord confirmed the upcoming functionality. Whether in a private direct message, a group chat, or even an entire Discord server, Xbox players will be able to share their gameplay with friends. And for those who are subscribed to Discord Nitro, the streaming experience will be even better, allowing for up to 1080p resolution and increased framerates.
The company acknowledged that this feature has been highly requested by users, and teased that more exciting news in collaboration with Xbox will be coming later in the year.
This update builds on Discord’s ongoing relationship with Xbox. Just over a year ago, the company integrated voice chat with Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One, a move that made the gaming experience even more social and engaging. And let’s not forget that earlier this year, Discord extended its voice chat feature to PS5.
For now, the Xbox streaming feature on Discord will be rolled out first to members of the Xbox Insider program. But don’t worry, wider availability is on the horizon and slated as “coming soon.”
So, Xbox players, get ready to share your gaming victories, thrilling adventures, and epic fails with your friends on Discord. It’s a whole new way to play together, even when you’re apart.
