OpenAI made an exciting announcement on Wednesday, revealing that users who pay for their services now have the ability to modify AI-generated images by providing text prompts directly in ChatGPT.
Why it’s important: Refining the images generated by DALL-E has posed some challenges.
However, OpenAI is now leveraging the language capabilities of ChatGPT to simplify the editing process by allowing users to describe the desired changes.
During a demonstration shared on X (formerly Twitter), OpenAI showcased its latest capability by adding bows to a poodle’s ears in an image generated by DALL-E.

In addition, DALL-E will now allow users to select the aspect ratio of their desired image and apply various styles like “motion blur” or “solarpunk.”
However, currently the new capabilities are only available to businesses and customers who are utilizing OpenAI’s paid service.
Looking at the overall perspective, utilizing language to articulate desired modifications has the potential to bring about significant advancements in various software applications, such as video, audio, and image editing tools.
